AI processing disclosure

Last updated: August 18, 2026

This page explains what happens when you choose an AI-powered feature in Nibble. AI is optional; disabling AI in the app stops AI requests.

1. Features that can use AI

  • Food photo analysis and nutrition estimates.
  • AI coach conversations and meal suggestions.
  • Recipe, nutrient, and pattern insights.

2. What may be sent

  • A meal photo you choose to analyze.
  • Meal logs and nutrition values relevant to your request.
  • Dietary preferences, allergies, and taste preferences.
  • Your calorie budget and optional weather context.
  • The text, voice transcript, or chat message you provide.

We do not send your name or raw Apple Health data to AI providers. Activity-based numbers may be included in a total goal when you enable Apple Health.

3. How the request is routed

The app sends an authenticated request to Nibble’s server-side AI service. That service applies account access and usage controls, keeps provider credentials out of the app, and routes the request to the configured provider and model. Current routing can use Google Gemini or OpenRouter-managed models.

4. Retention

Nibble does not retain the request or response content in its AI relay. The selected provider may process or temporarily retain content under its own privacy terms. Do not submit information you do not want processed by an AI provider.

5. Your choices

AI consent can be withdrawn in the app settings. You can also choose manual logging instead. AI output is informational and should be reviewed before you rely on it.
